Mama House Sandwiches & Deli - Authentic Vietnamese Banh Mi in San Jose

Averaging $7-$8 per sandwiches you got a lot for it. My favorite is Vietnamese ham and that came stack with so much of the meat! I went back the next morning and bought a bunch more to bring back home. Must try!!

The bánh mì sandwiches here are packed with flavor and freshness. I also love their variety of rice and noodle dishes. A real gem for anyone craving Vietnamese cuisine in San Jose!

Amazing place for Bahn Mi. Great service and the bread is fresh and soft. I will definitely be back and recommending it to others. I tried the grilled chicken banh mi. 10/10 would get it again

Really good sandwiches. Clean and compact store. They put the sandwich in 2 pieces for you. The bread is crispy and soft so it doesn't cut your mouth. Definitely coming back to try their other dishes.

Tried this brand new business out today!!! Got the #1 MaMa House Special Bánh mì and some freshly pressed (right in front of me) sugar cane drink. The #1 was unlike any Bánh mì I've ever had, loaded with thickly sliced Vietnamese cold cuts, Pâté, crispy veggies, picked daikon radish, mayo....and the bread So filling but oddly not heavy. I ate half for lunch and will enjoy the other half for dinner. They conveniently wrap the two halves separately! The sugar cane juice drink was pressed right in front of me while waited, it doesn't get any fresher than that!!! If you've never had sugar cane juice, it's slightly sweet and very refreshing. I highly recommend it! The staff working the counter were super helpful. The manager Calvin was kind enough to recommend and then help me customize my sandwich. I also was happy to here they had the fresh pressed sugar cane. I've only had it one other place, so good. If you are new to Vietnamese sandwiches, ask for some advice. You will not be disappointed! They do a lot more than sandwiches, I'll post photos of the selection they had to today. Going to need to make a few more visits to try some more good food!!!

Bún Bò and Bánh Canh are absolutely delicious! The noodles and broth taste authentic and comforting. I wasn’t too into the coffee, but the Bánh Mì Chả Cá was tasty , loved the sauce! The only downside is that the portion of fish paste feels a bit less for $8 per loaf. Overall, great flavors and worth trying!

Great value for dollar, high quality, fresh ingredients! Really nice that they wrap the sandwiches in halves, was not expecting that. I got a #2, it was good, but I regret not getting #1! One point off on atmosphere because there's no seating, but, we were told that has to do with city permitting.

Mama’s House is the spot if you want authentic Vietnamese-style flavors. Had the chicken breakfast sandwich (no egg) and it still hit. The calamansi tea is refreshing and delicious, and the Vietnamese iced coffee is strong and perfect if you’re a caffeine fiend like me. Good stuff.
